I second the use of Marvel Mystery Oil. I used it for 1300 hours in
both Lycoming and Continental
I’ve been using Decalin in the Corvair as recommended by William at
FlyCorvair. It does cut down on lead buildup, but there definitely still
is some. I’ve been trying a 50/50 mix of ethanol free gasoline and 100LL
for the last 25 hours and have seen cleaner oil and less buildup compared
to just 1
I use both decalin and mmo in my experimental o200, my plugs and heads have
been significantly cleaner when I was running those with 100LL than
without, however i run exclusively ethanol free gas now that I jug in from
the station on the way to the airport.

ULP at 1 mil per litre. Instead of using 100 avgas.

Ever since 2002 it has no longer been possible to buy auto fuel without ethanol
due to government “ clean energy” initiatives here in Canada.
So I’ve had to revert back to 100LL until one of the
