Neither the KR-1 or KR-2 plans required heat treatment of the wing attach fittings. They were made from 4130 chrome moly steel, Condition N , per plans. I never heard of any normalized 4130 wing attach fittings ever failing, and mine were made from Wicks Aircraft supply Normalized condition, 4130 s

I seem to recall something about a series of defective WAFs supplied by RR sometime in the past. Perhaps I'm not using the right key words but I'm striking out in the KR Archives. Can anyone point me towards this info? Or, if I'm not remembering correctly, perhaps you can help me get straightened
