I mounted mine right behind the shelf behind the seat to the bottom of the fuselage and straight up. There was just enough room. I never planned on needing it and seriously the likelyhood of that antenna surviving on the exterior of a KR are pretty slim from any and all pictures I have seen.

Reviewing pictures on the links, I see very few, if any, external antennae. What have you used, and how did you mount it. My ack E01 requires a 36in ground plane for the suppied antenna, and that limits locations. Yes I'm aware that the 121.5 system is being phased out, but I already have this on
