Most of it is just a glance; at altitude it's nice to know true airspeed. So much faster and easier to find frequencies for tower, approach, and departure control for flight following. Can fly right on the edge of B airspace, as Seattle is my backyard whereas before I left a larger buffer. It's

I also agree and flew round gauges from 1982 to 2017. And if you really want, the Dynon can be configured to show a round gauge 6-pack. It took me about 30 seconds to get used to a tape instead of round gauge, only a couple flights to find everything on the glass panel in an instant. But then I

I agree (especially on less than familiar areas!) - but we should all be using flight following for that too (shamefully, I do not - I will do better at this!) Even slightly expired maps will get you to an airport that you can feel comfortable landing at (frequency and general information availa

That is an awesome testimony of what these things do... being an old military helicopter pilot I still fly low and circle the water towers and read the names on the tower then climb and locate myself on the maps... dangerous in a plane but effective... just saying On Monday, March 21, 2022,

I fly a Dynon Skyview in Zenith CH-650. I was going to build a KR when this opportunity came up and 3 others joined me to share costs and build. Built from 2015 to 2017, flew WA to OSH in 2017 and 2019. This was 2019 event. Highly unlikely, but great to have Dynon and Nrst shows closest airports

Luis, I would still recommend to bring a sectional chart in the cockpit whenever you flying (even with your kind of modern avionics installed), as you cannot rely on electronics completely for VFR navigation. Yes, you may well have two independent GPS sources but a "solar wind" burst or a MMOD deb
