this gives me and hopefully others that are building, good insight on what to
go back to and ensure that these lessons learned are applied. My ailerons are
already built but I am taking the extra step to go back and ch
Certainly this may not add much to the conversation and Mark's comments. But
in the interest of sharing, this is how I built mine. I probably hit 180 MPH a
few times in a dive, but my usual flying speed was around 155MPH. The aileron
balance stuff is about 3/4 down the thumbnail list.

Some folks may wonder how I can get away with 245 mph IAS in N56ML. My
ailerons are hinged a few inches back from the nose with separate 1/8"
double-shear brackets. The counterweight is a lead-filled piece of
steel tubing epoxied into a hole cut in the foam in the forward inside
edge of the
