As someone who has both an iPad (WingX) and a Nexus 7 Android tablet (Avare),
I've not seen any significant difference in the level of aggravation. Both

Even though Apple irritates the heck out of me, I have an iPad 3 with
Foreflight and Xavion that works really well as long as my BadElf WAAS
receiver is plugged in. Total cost... about $500 for the tablet and
software. Foreflight is about $180/yr and X-avion was a one shot (same

Hi Doran,
Here is my advice, worth what you paid for it. :-)
1) Take it back to the store and ask if there is anyone
I can verify that the Nexus 7 has built in GPS. Mine runs several apps just
fine. As others have said just make sure the GPS is on in settings and that you
gave the app the permissions it needs when you installed it.
I have no experience with the Google tablet.

Unfortunately not all tablets have an actual GPS chipset in them. In these
cases the "location services" are provided by what cell tower they are
connected to. You really have to look at the specs an these tablets to
make sure they have REAL GPS on them. I know the ASUS tablets have GPS on
them.
I kave the nexus 7...had to figure it out but i don't remember off the top
of my head...try settings then turn on gps.
