because this plane is not 'flippable'... I thought that about mine too as my
shed has 9 ft or so height in its centre, and no opportunity to do anything
outside due to a steep slope ...
But I achieved a "flip" by removing the engine and engine mount mount (yes a
bit of work but not that much) and
I have flew with 240 lbs and a 200 lb passenger No problem

Stef,
Sounds like you just need something to make DCA happy. On KRNET
somewhere there is an in-depth structural analysis done by someone many
years ago that if memory serves should be perfect for your needs. I'm
currently out of town and with a slow internet connection so cannot go

Physically (mechanical/structural/etc) there is no difference between
G10 and FR-4. The flame retardant in FR-4 is designed so that the
material is self extinguishing once the ignition source has been
removed. My recollection is that the UL requirement was that it stop

Depends,
I had a leak on my Revflow carb, turned out to just be a simple O-Ring that had
hardened. Took longer to find a new one at the local airpart supplier than to
fix it. Think I spent a total of 25 cents. I just started to diassemble the
inlet arm and found it pretty quickly.

I'm starting to like the idea of using this stuff a bit more - and it DOES
seem to be the stuff I used in the Army (although the FR4 compliance is
apparently less important than G10). I do have glass & west-epoxy for areas
where wet-work will be required, but it seems to be just the ticket for

I'vw found a few suppliers for that cured panel and various other pre cured

was used in the aforementioned helicopter repairs, so I am considering
getting some very thin sheets to use for patching skin punctures and

FR-4 can be purchased in various thicknesses in the fully cured state;
Google 'printed circuit laminates' or just 'FR-4 laminate'. Or you might
check "printed circuit boards" or "multilayer printed circuits" to see if
there is a fabricator near you and they can tell you where you can get it.

My posa carburetor continues to drip fuel. I assume it's time to overhaul? Any

The KR's are capable of limited aerobatics, basically loops and
rolls, if you watch the speed and G loads. In the U.S., the
maneuvers must be performed during the initial ph
I thought someone might be interested in this for it's value in the real world

"Are the KR's aerobatic?"
Hello Brian,
The simple answer is yes. Now go beyond that and the simplicity ends. As Larry
said and you implied, you are not going to go out and do any "competitive"
aerobatics in a KR. And that is not because the airframe can't handle it but a
lot of other reasons
Brad,
In a KR size does matter. The answer is yes if they can fit height and
width wise. I've flown with two on board regularly and even fly Young Eagles.
It starts getting cramped though if the passenger is over 5-10' and 200
pounds in my airplane. My max allowable pilot and passenger is 37

There is a technique in DIY boatbuilding that uses homemade sheets of FG &
resin laid up on a sheet of Formica, then popped off it a
I recall an article in "Kitplanes"? about 1986ish written by a US Marine
test pilot.
I think he put the KR through it's aerobatic paces-in spades!
Sorry- I've lost the article, but you might be able to dig it up somewhere!
Good luck.
