Besides the spar being stronger next to the fuselage if you move them further outboard the ground track is going to be HUGE, mine won't fit on a standard car trailer. Patching the underside of the wing is a pain if you can't flip it over but can be done. Think of it as practice for the first time

I converted the 'holes' to inspection ports and made fairing covers for the four holes. These inspection ports are now essential to get access to the fresh air SCAT ducts and the wing tank fuel lines. The Diehl gear leg fairings are quite wide at the base, so did not need to do much fiber glass
