Yes. Long ago one of my Sterbas was cut down from 54" to 52" and in fact
this was done with the same size engine you reference. The result was
an additional 100

Just my two cents, but who are we talking about; the folks that actually
built their airplane or just anyone who flies there? If I buy a Glasair,
Falco, KR, or whatever, do I get in free too? How about the pilot that
restored his Cessna 140?
Where do you draw the line? EAA is a business (no matte
Good luck with the reduction in fees. I have collector cars and the
"fancy" car shows want me to PAY to show my car.Uh..NO! Yeah, I know.
I am talking cars, you are talking airplanes. However, you get the idea.

Derek,
I just received my antenna kit Friday. I had ordered it back in March.

I agree and was just discussing that with some of our EAA members. I said
exactly the same thing, they are the show. They should not be charged
admission, at all. Not there, not nowhere.

See you at the 2011 - KR Gathering in Mt. Vernon
I remember a article in (I believe) Popular Mechanics back in about 1973.
The author was in a Cessna 150 chase plane(?)and had photos of Ken Rand in
the first KR-1. The KR-1 was actually flying circles around the 150 and I
think the author said that the KR was doing about 150 MPH. That's when I
Hello Everyone;
I recently discovered a crack in my propeller at the end of the blade along the
grain about an inch long. The current prop is a 54" X 48 pitch.I was
considering purchasing another prop and the manufacturer has one available that
is 52" X 48 pitch. My KR-2 has a Revmaster 1
Hey,All you guys filled out the Eaa survey??? One point i tried to make was
that I beleive that people that fly their planes to OSH or SNF should be gien a
break on fees - after all they are the show.Joe

But you also have to remember how light the original was and the pilot. Look
at the David DA-11, 20 HP and just about as fast. I think it is credible
myself.

Nope. Just an interested lurker.

Chris, are you of the famous Ross family that we all found so exciting a few
years ago...doing the prop reduction units?
Pat
Remenber, we are not talking just about HP. When you "loaf" an engine rated
at 100 HP@4000RPM, ...that is retrict it's use to 3200RPM, you lose brute
force, Torque, the power to get out of tight spaces, prop pitch options,
SLOW AND HI SPEED manuevering, short runways and on and on. Everyth
There is a Kolb for sale on Barnstormers with a BMW bike engine on it.
He has a Youtube video showing it fly. Seems to do ok. The engine is
running uncowled.

I recall that claim and did not believe it then and still do not believe
itunless the KR was in a dive or in free fall!
