I replied to this post earlier today, but much like Larry's missing emails, it didn't go through. My KR has comm, transponder, ELT, GPS, and PCAS antennas, but none of them are mounted externally. Since wood and glass are essentially transparent to RF, all the antennas can be mounted internall

If the plane is a 2 place, an ELT is required.  You don't have to have an external antenna, but you will get better transmission range with the external.   Ron --- On Mon, 2/21/11, Dave Dunwoodie wrote: From: Dave Dunwoodie Subject: KR> ELT Requirements, External ELT Antenna To: kr...@mylist.

Dave, Wood and fiberglass are just about invisible to RF, so the antennas are often times installed internally. I have no external antennas on my KR, but have the following antennas installed: Comm Radio, Transponder, ELT, GPS, and PCAS. Jeff ScottN1213WLos Alamos, NM -- Original Messag

Well finally! My first milestone is within reach. I test fit my gear today and should have the boat off the bench by the end of the week. The Bingelis gear weight with disc brakes and minus the wheel and tire assy came in at 13 lbs each. The height from the bottom of the spar to the ground ca
