I replied to this post earlier today, but much like Larry's missing emails, it
didn't go through. My KR has comm, transponder, ELT, GPS, and PCAS antennas,
but none of them are mounted externally. Since wood and glass are essentially
transparent to RF, all the antennas can be mounted internall
If the plane is a 2 place, an ELT is required. You don't have to have an
external antenna, but you will get better transmission range with the external.

Well finally! My first milestone is within reach. I test fit my gear today and
should have the boat off the bench by the end of the week. The Bingelis gear
weight with disc brakes and minus the wheel and tire assy came in at 13 lbs
