Without a doubt, Having a KR fuselage sitting 5 feet away was very helpful in getting started. I say started because it seems like so long ago. I am proud to say that I have finished the wings, counterweights and all, except for the cosmetics and will be moving on to another part of the plane

I towed my KR-2 about 8 times on a single axle trailer when it broke down around the country. From as far as Florida to Dallas and Missouri to Dallas and never had a problem with a mount. Just the engine. I always pulled it facing  forward to keep the weight on the tongue  --- On Thu, 7/15/10, o

BE WARNED ... a trailer with an aft COG under brakes is potentially as dangerous as a tailwheel aircraft under brakes. The aft COG makes the trailer want to overtake the towing vehicle if braking from high speed. So many caravaners try to unload the drawbar of just load it wrong and the trailer

Well, it's a tricycle gear KR2 with a motor. I'll remove the motor, but can I use the mounting points on the firewall for tie-downs? Will I have to support the tail if I remove the engine? Thanks for all of the responses. I don't want to tear it up on the trip home.

In a lot of cases they are putting the engine weight over the wheels instead of forward on the vehicle hitch. Another reason is not being able to get the main gear over the trailer wheel wells.. They trailer either way just fine.. Ron --- On Thu, 7/15/10, Larry Ragan wrote: > From: Larry Ra

Larry I have also seen airplanes trailered tail first and wondered why. I trailered mine nose first and had the controls blocked with no trouble. See http://www.jackandsandycooper.com/themove.html Jack Cooper Chuckey TN. Larry Ragan wrote. I've seen projects being trailered and a lot

I think it's mostly an expedience in loading. It's just easier to pull it up tail first. Probably would be better for the control surfaces, if attached, to trail (as in towing nose first) but even then they should be locked down with external control locks. -Original Message- From: krnet-

I've seen projects being trailered and a lot of the time they are being towed tail first. Is there any special reason or advantage to doing it this way?
