On that subject, to those running any kind of 5th bearing, is there any reason not to run an aluminum line from the bearing to the oil port? I know most "aircraft" engines with prop governors run stainless lines. A 3/8" aluminum line has a rated burst pressure of 300 psi or so (and that's with a 2

Hi Dan, The only thing I would suggest isĀ putting stainless steel fittings in the 5th bearing if it is not and in the oil filter adapter that the 5th bearing oil line is attached to. It may not be as critical on the Corvair engine as compared to a Lycoming. I know years ago ADs were issued on Ly
