Netters,
I am in the process of acquiring a new (to me) KR2S. It is currently at
Bill Clapp's in Valdosta awaiting my learning to fly it (and land it)
comfortably before I think about ferrying it home. I may be considering
having
do some modifications for me before that happens, so I have
Bob,
You forget I am a born and bred Georgia boy, I have only been out of the
south since 1997. Killed many deer down there too. My brother lived in
Suwanee for many years. Dan, I used to fly in that heat and humidity all the
time. Just not in a KR.

Mark, down here in the south, the deer sleep in the morning, they're party
deer and they stay up in the afternoon to early morning looking for fresh
props. Dan's smart enough to know that flying is best done in the morning
to avoid a deerly departed prop!!
Congratulations D

That would be cooler than cool. We have two airport communities just up the
street from me and it bums me out that I don't live in one of them. You are
a blessed person and I hope to get up to see you soon.

Today has been a great day.
My KR made one lap around the patch and when I set her down, she could be used
again immediately.
Now when we get to the Gathering, I can walk proud.
Thanks to Mark, Larry, Ed, Dan, & all who made and re-made the gear alignment

I would say no, but it can be an indication that you need to make an
adjustment. Making the mixture more rich, will cool down the heads. I
always like to keep a little "richability" in reserve, just in case the CHT
starts getting too high.

As Willie states, the CHT really isn't the correct gauge to use for leaning.
It's too slow and has too many other players to give a good reflection of
mixture. My Tomahawk has neither CHT or EGT. I lean for best power/RPM until
I see a slight drop in RPM, then go back in until the RPMs peak.
Hi Jack
Are you sure about that? Normaly that is the way the EGT is marked. The
Cyliderhead temp will not help for mixture settings.
I'm flying a Cherokee 140 that does not have EGT but does have a CHT. The gauge
has a a star sy mbol on it but I dont reallly know what it means. One day while
I was leaning the CHT went above the star so I richened the mixture back below
it. Is CHT an effective instrument for leaning? There a
Hi Mark
It was nice meeting you and others at Oshkosh!
I flew a C150 once that did not have an EGT meter. every 1000vt I pulled the
mixture back slowly until the engine started running rough, then pushed the
throttle back just 6mm. On my Cessna 182 I find it difficult to see where
