I've finally narrowed down this issue. In Kopete 0.50.80 (KDE 4.1.0),
if spell checking is enabled, correctly spelled words are black
instead of the KDE theme's color. Numbers and most punctuation seem to
follow the KDE theme, as does all text if spell check is disabled.

if not off by default. Pidgin implemented this feature a while
ago, and it was extremely annoying. There were a lot of angry users on
their message board because of it.

Thanks. I couldn't quite follow the trail back to who originally wanted the
feedback.
I should also add that none of these issues are critical, so I plan on
continuing to use KDE Telepathy. Thanks to everyone involved in the project
for all the hard work.

relatively simple stuff. If it would be feasible for me, are there one or
two experienced developers that would be willing to help me out with basic
questions like adding the menu item/button and finding where in the code I'd
have to add the functionality? Thanks.

I guess I won't work on this like I had planned on then. Glad I hadn't
started any actual code yet. Do you have a storage mechanism already done
for this? I did a basic XML schema (not an actual XSD yet, just a mockup)
for it, and I'd be happy to share it if anyone is interested.
