Paula,
You have to play with your Frameworks, because these MARC fields are available
... maybe just not in the framework you have on screen.

Walker,
Since it sounds like some others have had trouble (for various reasons) either
upgrading or installing in Ubuntu, could you follow-up with some specifics
regarding just what kind of set up you had before, and what you did to install
with zero problems -- as a guide to those following in
Haven't been entering anything in this box - until now. It looks like the
changes only appear on the staff side, not in the OPAC. Interesting, but odd.
I understand the mention of a url to be a generic way to get any url that
happens to be in an 856 $u to pop itself in at that point. But if it

Hello,
I've cataloged electronic databases and assigned them a collection code
ERESOURCES, and an item type ERESOURCES.
No barcodes, of course, because they can't be "checked out." (And where would I
adhere the barcode anyway?)
As far as I can tell there are no problems resulting from having i

Amber,
The authorities module doesn't seem to work so well.
That said, it sounds to me like perhaps your particular situation might be
spoken to in the manual at:

Follow up to my own earlier email:
I've been playing around on one of the demo sites that lets us preview Koha
3.06.00.000 (specifically the one at bywatersolutions.com).
My earlier email had 4 "problems" with Koha's authorities module. Two of those
problems appear to be FIXED in Koha 3.06!
today, by PTFS -- which IS (I
should add) in the process of upgrading us a newer version of PTFS/LibLime Koha.

I've always had to update changed call numbers on each item record, one by one.
So I don't believe Koha does updating automatically. (Personally, I'm happy
with Koha working that way.)
NEW items will have the auto-generated new number, though.

May somewhat depend on just which MARC fields are missing.
If it is 003 and 005, as on lots of records we batch loaded here from a service
provider, the you can:
For MARC field 003 - Just enter your library's MARC Organization code (search
it at http://www.loc.gov/marc/organizations/org-search
My suggestions based on our practice:
1. URL to click on goes in MARC field 856, subfield $u
OR it can go into Koha item record field 952, subfield $u
The link appears in a different place in the public catalogue, depending on
which field you use. Or you could put same URL into BOTH the 856
You can get to the LibLime-Koha discussion list at:

I subscribe to it and it isn't very active, so I don't know what sort of
response you'd get to this sort of question.

David,
I can't help you with the install (last time I did an Ubuntu install was on LTS
10.04 about 2 years ago) ... but maybe if you share more specifics about what
isn't working, what error message(s) you get, or what specific step seems to
where the install grinds to a halt ... maybe then oth
