I don't think you can tag from the staff interface. We've talked about
doing some tagging enhancements; so maybe this will be a good discussion
topic.
However, you clearly have a separate problem with tagging from the OPAC
that needs to be resolved. You have to enable tagging in the staff

Maybe a tag should be a keyword search option in advanced search?

Do your mail logs show anything? Are you using sendmail or postfix or

Hi Tim, and welcome to the Koha community.
In a slightly different order than your questions below:
1. Yes, I would recommend Koha 3.4, and it's completely appropriate for
a small school library. Version 3.2 is still supported, but 3.4 is much
improved and it's pointless to start with an older ve
We have a test Koha server here that's partly like you describe. Our
base metal is a Sun Fire X4100 server running Solaris 10 and VirtualBox,
then we installed Koha on Debian in a VM. All that was fairly easy to
setup, but I think one of the things with a distributable VM is keeping
it up-to-date.
Userful (userful.com) also works with koha using the SIP interface. If
you have any specific questions let me know.
Kyle was working on a completely new version of libki, but I haven't
checked on the status of that project recently.

You need to add user "koha" to the /etc/sudoers file.

This is a middle-front-burner issue for us, so I'll just jump right in here.
First of all, "for Koha" probably isn't quite the words we want to use.
There are a number of systems that work fine with Koha right now,
including Userful which we use, PC-Cop and Envisionware, et al. These

I think it might be interesting to raise this issue with the free press.
Some coverage of the issue in the right places, especially if it might
go viral, could be very powerful. If there is a good writer familiar
with the NZ issues involved that could write up some bullet
points/talking points and
As Koha continues to grow in popularity it seems reasonable to assume
there may be a corresponding increase in the number of Koha system
administrators, specifically separate from developers. At some point if
there is interest in starting a mailing list or a wiki section for

One or two or three of us here at RHCL would certainly be interesting in

that's our experience too. One fix is to run a separate instance of

I might have been inclined to go, but it coincides exactly with the

We have just been shot down.
Due to lack of budgeting for KohaCon 2012 in our current fiscal year,
our requests here at Rolling Hills Library to attend have been
disapproved. I understand fully that the community is busily preparing
to attend the conference in Scotland, and I sincerely wish everyo
