While using SIP2 for return of book which is on hold it trigger hold item
on "in transit" status while under same situation return from Koha staff it
pop up message to "confirm hold" and it works nicely i.e. "waiting" status
and email message to pick up hold is generated.

Which of the 3 possible settings in the circulation conditions did you pick? -
I have selected "Yes" to "On shelf holds allowed"
Can you place the hold correctly, once the item has been checked out? - Yes,

Yesterday I was successful enabling shelf holds doing this:
1. Koha menu "Administration > Circulation and fine rules"
* Holds allowed (count): more than 0
* Holds per record (count): more than 0
* On shelf holds allowed: Yes
2. Koha system preference "RequestOnOpac": Allow

holds for on shelf items on the OPAC, and get warnings on the staff side of the

Thanks everyone for your help, I worked out that I had not cloned the "All
libraries" circulation rules to each of our library sites. I have done this
and I can now place holds!

Our OPAC is not showing that items are checked out in the search results
list. If you click on a record, it will show the correct status. We
just upgraded to 15.05.02 last Friday on a Debian 8 package install.

Is Zebra indexing correctly in the background? The search results come
from zebra, the detail page directly from the db.
So the reindexer would be my suspect
