administrator account, then created Patron category "Staff", then added a new
patron/user under this category. When trying to give that user
"superlibrarian" permissions (More - Set permissions) I receiv

Have you tried opening the file in MarcEdit and using:
Tools->Validate MARC records and selecting the 'Identify Invalid Records'
option?
I have had the same issue and often found just opening the file with
MarcEdit and then compiling the file into MARC again will clear the problem

Has anyone successfully enabled LDAP for Koha. We have an Active Directory
server we can use. We would use a patron's email address for the login id.
I'm assuming that we would use LDAP for both the OPAC client and the
administration site.
