Description of problem:

I installed Debian on another machine, here I installed Koha 3.2 which still
works well.
Koha have configured to use a active directory ldap server.
I test this ldap server with Softerra LDAP
In preparing to do another batch upload of data, we ran a test import
of authorities, and ran a check for duplicates. This returned some
unexpected results. There are duplicates already in Koha. I

Dear Sir/ Madam,
We are creating an online catalogue system to document over 3,000 items that
we have in 5 different locations.
We want to assign to each item a call number so that once having found the
item on Koha we can then find it easily in the actual library location.
However, when we uploa

Louise,
You are not understanding correctly. Call numbers are assigned by
each library. Libraries will use different call numbers for the same
item depending on the books they have around them on the shelf. You
can set it up to pull the call number from the 050 or 082 field in to

Hello everyone,
Is that possible with Koha to transfer records (database) on a CD or USB
stick? What are the commands to execute this operation?
Thank you!

All,
I was wondering how libraries with open-shelf reference materials are
handling the "Place a Hold" link in the search results page
(opac-search.pl). As of this instant (and we're a "work in progress")
, we have "Copies available for reference" meaning they are open shelf
and not on loan (
Linda,
If I understand what you're asking right items that are marked as
not for loan will not have the hold link showing on the search results
or the details page. If the bib record has one item for loan and one
not for loan then the link does show up, but it will not let people
place a hold
Nicole,
Right. And has anyone heard any rumblings from staff or patrons about
the default of having the hold link always there, even if all they get
is the "Sorry, none of these items can be placed on hold page"? It may
be a non-issue.
Thanks!

All,
This is probably a really stupid question, so I apologize. Where can I
set a default hold period? I know that the patron can set a "Hold not
needed after" date, but is there a way to set a default that the hold
period isn't indefinite?
Thanks.

Linda,
Holds will remain in the system indefinitely if they are never filled. I
suppose this could happen if the queue was constantly rearranged to put
someone at the bottom every time, but generally, it cycles through and
everyone gets their material eventually. If it's very popular, the wait
Ian,
In our case, the hold is only good for the day it is placed. In the
Memphis Public Library "Popular 7-Day Books and new DVDs cannot be
placed on hold. However, if a copy is available at any library, you can
call that library and the material will be held for you until the end of

Kurt,

I can see setting a default 'not needed after' date in an academic library,
since by and large most students would not care about getting a
school-related book after the semester ended. This would need to be
overridable, so they
I have installed Koha in spanish in Kubuntu and want to know how to change the
"Mapa" (Cart) Text into Carrito/Bolsa, etc. using CSS.
Thanks.
