[Koha] 008 edits not sticking

Greetings I have attempted to change the format (position 23) in the 008 field of an existing biblio to microfilm. Also I've tried to change the type of material from books to music (score). These edits don't "stick". I hit OK, save the record and when I go back to look, the changes are not there
