Hi Wayne,
Thank you and all the team for the Kicon meeting today.
My question,
Is the file format for V6 frozen too?
I want to start working with V5.99 for real work. I know the
risks, but the risks are higher if the file format may be c

o you use Ubuntu version 14.04.
Based on this version py3 is not available because wx is not available
on py3 for this version.
You have to upgrade to 18.04 for that...

Hi Jean-Samuel and All,
I have successfully installed v5.1.0 from ppa. Thanks for your fast support!
One of the new features is Pcbnew scripting support for Python 3 but in
the version info KICAD_SCRIPTING_PYTHON3 is off.
Is this compilation alright?

Hi Michael,
Are you sure that the file you have sent to the list is the same file

It could be possible you have 2 copies of the same file in different
folders.
I can see the hole in stable and nightly versions, like anyone else but you.

there’s a
bug where the preview chooses what model to render irrespective of which
is selected in the models list. I’ve fixed that bug in 6.0, but it was
one of the things that made me think perhaps I didn’t understand how
this feature was used.)

Jeff,
From a user point of view, sometimes I add 2 different models to the
same footprint: a power transistor and its heatsink, a male pinheader
and its female matching connector. Just to check they won't "crash" with
other components when connected.
And I also keep the .wrl and .step models
So it is already implemented in the legacy canvas:
-Global spread and place -> Spread out All Footprints
-Autoroute -> Automatically Route All Footprints
Well, two clicks instead one just one.
I'm with Wayne: no effort should be added to autorouting as there are
plenty of features to sort out.
Hi Andr,
I have just checked the behaviour of pcbnew in my copies of kicad 4.0.7
ubuntu and nightly 20170925 ubuntu.
-If F.Fab is set, values and references can be set/unset in the render tab.
-If F.Fab is unset, values and references are hidden no matter if they
are set or unset.

Hi Orson, Wayne
First, good videos at FOSDEM.
Duplicate zone as in OpenGL canvas or duplicate zone onto layer as in
legacy canvas, deserves its own menu entry.
One of them is enough for me. I use this feature in almost every board.
Sometimes I duplicate the zone into another layer, sometimes
Sorry for the attachment.
I still have a 2004 copy in my computer ;-)

This topic has been discussed many times, it is always controversial.

Hi,
Currently, eeschema keeps information of deleted hierarchical sheets
into their bound .sch file.
In the project I have now, there were 5 hierarchical sheets with the
same file. After deleting 2 of these hieralchical sheets, their
information (a line for every component) remains in the co

And there is no need to go to the schematic, even though we are using
the .sch file to read the components.
Easy to say, complex to program with my C++ level.
Thanks!
Pedro.
