I have just started using the ASUS UX501VW as my development laptop. I am
running 16.04.1 on the 4.3.5-040305-generic kernel. I haven't tried anything
more than what I've read in these comments.

Dang. Ok, then I'll load my 4.2.0-42 official kernal that came with my
14.04 installation and report the bug that way I guess. The 4.4 official
version that came with 16.04 wouldn't load at all, so that's not even an
option... Sheesh.

ok I got my computer to load up on the 4.4 kernel. But the screen res is
locked in at 800x600. I have no trackpad (also tried a usb mouse and
touchscreen with no luck), and no wifi. Nonetheless, I persevered and
opened up my terminal to start a bug report, but I could only see the
