Update:
Latest Ubuntu 14.04 update has corrected connectivity issue. Full 70/70
connection on AC wifi on 2.4ghz, as well as 5ghz.
Testing on both 3.15RC3 kernel as well as 3.13.0.24 kernel - stability
and connectivity improved.
Seems to be a non-issue at this point.

I have a 13 " MBP 11,1, I was running Ubuntu 14.04 which was working

I have done a day of testing with kernel 3.15.0-031500rc3. Stability
has been improved - No disconnects/drops.
Connectivity is still at 51-53/70, but other than that seems to be
working fine with Transmission as well as SSH.

I've examined all of the changelogs for the x1 Carbon gen1

and there is nothing in there to indicate there is any fix for anything
graphic related. I don't feel that the bios out-dated tag is relevant

We have a system with 3 block devices (SATA) split into 2 partitions
each, and create RAID0 md0 (sda1, sdb1, sdc1), and RAID0 md1 (sda2,
sdb2, sdc2). We then create a bcache device on an SSD and set it to
writeback mode, (/dev/bcache0).
When we attempt to release/unregister
A quick test shows stopping and then unregistering helps. I've only
tested that a few times. That said, clearly if we do things in the
wrong order, the module should refuse instead of panic =).

Getting the same error with Chromebook Pixel on all terminals
occasionally.
Not sure if there are any other related symptoms. 3D and video works
fine, although with 3D the system will start getting warm and kicking up
the fans. I haven't done enough testing to know if this is typical with
this lap
I was just able to reproduce it by previewing a 3D screensaver
(Molecule). After clicking Leave Fullscreen X crashes with this as the
error message on screen. Killing the session (ctrl-alt-backspace) will
recover responsiveness and allows me to log back in.

A few hrs later, those two L0 bare metal host CPUs are still maxed. In
scenarios where L0 is hosting many VMs, such as in a cloud, this bug can

Not true of all directories, actually. /root is special somehow.
(detach_mounts is suspicious... probably the initramfs mounted the real

Hi,
this is an Ubuntu-specific bug, the overlayfs v1 compat patch is not
included upstream.
(For completeness, I did boot the 3.19-rc4 mainline kernel and verify
that, per comment 4.)
FWIW, I think (but am not sure how to confirm) that it's falling into
vfs_rename with flags including RENAME_WHI
This is fixed in utopic and later.

Having posted, I see that this is actually a utopic kernel that oopsed
(3.16.0-71-generic)
However, the oops stack is still possible on trusty, the blk-merge code in

Evolution is the application that Ubuntu uses for calendar, mail, and
contacts. A similar program would be Mozilla's Thunderbird.
It doesn't surprise me that removing it would free up some RAM, but I
don't think this is necessarily the root of the problem. Removing it
from other versions of Ubuntu
The bug is only semi-fixed upstream. With kernels 4.4.0-36 and 38 there
