Forgot to mention: Ubuntu 14.10 (linux kernel 3.16) booted without this
problem off the same USB3 stick on the same USB3 port on the same
laptop. So this is a regression that was introduced in Ubuntu 15.04
(linux kernel 3.19).

I'm not sure if the touchpad toggle not generating an event is a problem
and I'm not sure if WLAN is the correct event (i.e. is it just WiFi
toggle or a full rfkill).
I suspect the fact that that the three keys tested don't actually seem
to do anything in Unity is due to missing functionality in X

Status in linux packag
I tried to specify the udev rule more precisely, i.e. only power up a host
controller.
Is there anybody could give it a try?

There was errata in the 1.6 Broxton DMC firmware currently in linux-
firmware and it no longer loads on 4.7 and higher based systems, which
includes i915_bpo now that it has been updated to a 4.7 based backport.
This is the error:

Latest kernel update 4.4.0-31 causes kernel panic at startup. Had to
reboot with 4.4.0-28 which works fine. I have no idea if it's on all
filesystems but I'm using btrfs.
