1. Install backport-iwlwifi-dkms from PPA[1]:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:canonical-hwe-team/backport-iwlwifi && sudo
apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install backport-iwlwifi-dkms
2. The installation step above should also trigger dkm
@otheos, could you help collect logs when the system becomes
unresponsive? You can paste the dmesg of the last boot after rebooting.
I cannot find same hw for test, so it would be on your own. You might
want to file a bug on https://bugzilla.kernel.org/ concurrently.

florin, please remove the dkms package before installing mainline
kernel:
$ sudo apt purge backport-iwlwifi-dkms
They shouldn't be conflicting to each other, but when DKMS is installed,
the in-tree modules won't be used.

Please file a new bug for a different model. With that, and some more
details about what exactly fixed your problem, then we may be able to land
the right fix into mainline/generic kernel, so that you don't bother redo
those fixes again.

Hi, I've tried to find out the meanings of all the WMI entries you have,
but none seems to be related.
