I tried the mainline kernel 3.14.1 from here - http://kernel.ubuntu.com /~kernel-ppa/mainline/, and the result is even more disappointing, the Bouetooth is not even recognized, unlike the Ubuntu 14.04 default kernel that acts just like the OP said. I have the same laptop - Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E 5
