I have to connect the onboard graphics (HDMI) vs displayPort to get past
a stuck purple boot screen, all I see in the logs is the attached in
dmesg

I tried your solution bsb, it was not the answer for me, the H800
headset microphone remains the only thing not working in my case.

On switching to 15.10 my Logitech H800 BT headset no longer exports a
microphone in the sound settings dialogue, the headset works fine
otherwise for HSP/HFP play back and A2DP
