Had this problem with a 12.04 that had been upgraded from 11.04 to 11.10 to 12.04 32 bit. I finally reinstalled new 64 bit 12.04 and the problem persisted. For me it was gpe11 that had a value of 4200. I followed the instructions from post #114 above, modified for gpe11 instead of 13 and it seem
