Hi, I know this is an old bug, but I'm experiencing this problem on the
latest 4.13 kernel. I didn't have the issue on an older 4.10 kernel.
What I have found is that if I switch with Ctrl+Alt+F1, then suspend,
then resume and switch back to X, it works. If I just suspend I'm left

I also just ran into this using hwe on xenial 16.04.2.
perf in the stock 16.04.2 is linked to libdw, libunwind, libbfd, and
libbz2, all of which are missing after switching to hwe with the 4.8
kernel.

I also found this on my Acer Aspire laptop, which has a Qualcomm WLAN
module. The update to 4.8.0-44 seems to have removed the entire
directory of wireless driver modules.
The effect is that the hardware isn't recognized at all, which initially
led me to suspect a hardware error.
