I also ran into the same problem on all Ubuntu 20.04 machines (physical
and virtual) which had the focal proposed channel subscribed. On one
virtual machine I had to reinstall dpkg which was weird by itself.
Otherwise nothing bad happens, the version for the package "linux-
firmware" is stuck on v
The workaround described in [11] worked for me. so including the preinst
script from linux-firmware_20220329.git681281e4-0ubuntu3.10_all.deb
would do the trick.
