The QCA6174 Wifi adapter is not functional in Ubuntu 19.10, both from
the live cd and an install. It is functional in a 18.04 install.
At boot, the kernel log contains the following messages in 19.10:

I upgraded to 5.5-rc6 and this appeared to fix things. I did not need
to update the firmware.

I use this machine as a wireless router based on shorewall. Kernel
3.13.0-29-generic works fine. Kernel 3.13.0-30-generic immediately
crashes in ipt_do_table as soon as shorewall is started.
