What I did was I changed
`COMPRESS=lz4` to `COMPRESS=gzip` in `/etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf`, then
`sudo update-initramfs -u`
After, without a reboot I've changed `COMPRESS` back to `lz4`, and then
`sudo
It's true. Linux kernel v4.19 support touchpad. Also scroll works.

Having same issue after installing Ubuntu 17.10 on Acer ES1-512. Can't

The problem is still an issue on i686 PAE kernel in raring.
Got a Lenovo W520 Laptop with 24GiB of RAM. "apt-get update" takes several
minutes.
However I found a workaround as alternative to removing the memory physically.
Add "mem=0x2" kernel boot parameter in /etc/default/grub in run
up

sudo apt-get install -f
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
but that didn't helped. I also tried repair the package catalog in software
center but it couldn't repair anything.
Apt-get doesn't let me install enything before I repaire the package catalog.

I tried fixing broken apt-get -f install
purging, removing the package and nothing helped. I found one working solution
in a forum which bypasses the broken package.
If anyone needs installing anything after this bug occured (while we are
waiting for fix) you need to temporary bypass the brok

don't remove all packages containing the words linux, generic and raring !!!
basically just remove the packages linux-image-generic-lts-raring and
linux-image-3.8.0-31-generic and another package witch is similar to these two
(have forgotten the exact name).

I have an equal behavior but for Ubuntu 24.04.
So, it seems to be kernel version related.
Starts happening just after the last update some days ago (turned the
machine off for two days and only today on again).
I will try to add the logs via apport-collect.

#19431034) and "acpi=force" solution seems to have no effect. What I do: boot
