The intel_ring_setup_status_page() does a posting read anyway, so it is
not an ordering issue. So this is back in the magic read territory, can
you try with a msleep(10) instead of the read just to confirm that it is
the read doing the trick and not an extra delay?

None of the 4.x builds are booting with 15.04 32bit.
Tested this with v4.0-vivid, v4.1-rc5-unstable and and rc2, all not able to
find/use sda.
Unfortunately I cannot reach any of the v3.13.xxx-trusty branches in the
kernel-ppa tree, all return a connection time-out.

was changed as a result of the systemd debug params controversy.
You need to repeat the 'forcepae' twice in the linux kernel parameters,

It seems that from the files provided we're missing these 2 packages, that
prevent the daemons installation.
Forcing the installation of the linux*-generic packages will work, however the
LIS daemons will not get installed.
