I also confirm this bug on the bootable USB installer on Thinkpad E15
Gen 2, it kernel panics into the elantech error mentioned.

I disabled the TRACKPOINT (not trackpad) in the BIOS of my Lenovo E15
Gen2 AMD and I was able to install and use but it's annoying not being
able to use the trackpad buttons (I can only touch tap etc), I am
assuming the trackpoint and the trackpad buttons are connected. This is
a very annoying issu
Working for me also:

trackpad, trackpoint, buttons all work accordingly.

Wow, decided to come back to this thread out of curiosity after 4
months, still not solved haha
I guess this is a testament to rolling release and having good active
maintainers like they have in Arch and OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, things just
get fixed and pushed. I will continue using Arch for now.
