I'm affected by this bug. My laptop is a relatively new Lenovo X1.
OS is Ubuntu 19.10, kernel is 5.3.0-29-generic (both with all upgrades), all
available firmware upgrades are installed (using fwupdmgr).
Occasionally my touchpad stops working after resume from sleep. I have
to boot the laptop, an
@paulmenzel This very much looks like the same or at least a similar
issue.
Same error messages from i2c, same symptoms with the touchpad. The only
difference is that it's not a Dell - but this does not mean that the
same software can't be affected.

I see the same error message when I try the following:
* laptop is in docking station, external monitor is connected
* send laptop to sleep
* undock laptop
* wake laptop up
The error message is present on the terminal, my KDE session is logged out.
Nothing useful in .xsession-errors though.
