Hello, I am getting this bug too in my Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. This wasn't
happening before I upgraded from 22.04 LTS. I noticed that there is a
narrow 2-pixel high invisible horizontal bar somewhere on the screen
that, when the mouse cursor is inside, causes the screen to flicker
heavily. It doesn't mat
I don't think it's right to drop support for hardware when the driver is
EOL upstream. Nouveau never worked properly with my GK208B [GeForce GT

Furthermore, this was not communicated properly when I upgraded using

Yes, I disabled the "Security Chip" there - I guess it is the same as
the "TTL Chip" you mention - and the problems have disappeared. Thanks a
lot.
Remains the question of what the security or TPM chip does for Linux. So
far I only found references to Windows. As I do not use a Windows boot

A known workaround is to install the guest additions provided by the
upstream application, at least with 7.0.22 upstream version it works.

Hi guys, I've fixed this situation with a workaround (please forgive my bad
english) on fedora and for sure the same can be applied with ubuntu.
in the specific:
i installed brightnessctl and discovered the max value for light, in my case

after that, i create a shortcut on keyboard (used
Hello Philip,
Sadly, I fried my motherboard. I bought a new one, and it powers off
fine, surprisingly.
Maybe this was a hardware bug after all? The behaviour was surprising
though..
Should I close this bug? I won't be able to test anything anymore.
Best,
Antoine

I'm having much the same issues with my Sony WH-H900N headphones since
upgrading to 24.10. 24.04 worked like clockwork. Note I use Kubuntu.

I noticed that the guest additions features are still functional in the
6.8.0-31-generic version of the Ubuntu kernel, but are no longer
available after upgrading to 6.8.0-47-generic.
If we bisect these two versions we may be able to locate the kernel
version that introduces the regression.
