I don't know the internal wiring of the laptop so can't be totally sure.
In 99% of laptops I have seen, the USB-C port is owned by the Intel
chipset. So indeed if you connect a display cable to it that's USB-C at
one end then that port should operate as a monitor wired directly to the
Intel GPU.
