running Ubuntu Mate "20.04.2 LTS (Focal Fossa)" (will stick to LTS)
so this is mate desktop here and architecture is of course 64 bits.
On my dell XPS 9575 the issue is present: either need to close and open screen
hinge or wait 10 seconds to get to mousepad to life.

it show that this bug is in an incomplete state, I was one of the people
how discovered it, let me know how I can help.
I can provide diagnostics, whatever might be missing if needed to narrow
it down.
I am seeing this issue with latest LTS version (20.04.2), and primarily
usign the Yaru theme.

I got another couple of days out of it without issue - so I think it's
likely fixed.
It seems like this issue looks very similar to the following upstream bug, same
behaviour but a different error, and so I wonder if it was ultimately the same
bug. Looks like this patch from 2.0.3 was pulled int

for 60 days.]
