Re: the kernel patch to groovy... My understanding is that the window for both
5.8.y and 5.9.y are already closed since they are not LTS releases... The 5.10
window is still open and will be for a while as the most recent LTS

The Intel Ice driver in 5.4 does not contain the PCIIDs necessary to allow the
driver to see the E810 network cards. Without this, users running Focal GA
will be unable to deploy Ubuntu via MAAS, or use these cards at all
post-install when installing from an ISO.
Note, as this patch is already present from 5.7 onward, the only work
necessary is a pull into 5.4.

When I plug a gamepad recognized as DragonRise Inc
with sdl-jstest when I move the :
left stick vertical : axe 1 move
left stick horizontal : axe0 and axe2 move together
right stick vertical : axe 2 move and bouton0 is set to 1
right

The ctrl+alt+f2 - this was a fresh install on a system76 machine,
running the integrated graphics. I have since loaded the NVidia drivers
and my some miracle, I no longer need this work around.
The ttys run from 1 to 7, I think, but the keyboard shortcuts to
activate them are always ctrl+alt+f

I followed the instructions at #80 under Bug 97822. That is:
Disabled Legacy Mode
Disabled Secure Boot
both options were on the same Advanced BIOS panel.
I then re-booted without success.
So I went with the final bit of the instructions and re-installed Ubuntu.
Success!

I should probably also set the correct bug status here, which is
'Invalid' as it's not a bug in the Linux kernel. It's a bug in the
machine's firmware/BIOS.
