Ubuntu 17.10 corrupting BIOS - many LENOVO laptops models

I experienced the same issue in 16.04 but things definitely worked in
16.10 (and still do in a parallel installation, where I use proto=imps
resetafter=0)
Updating to 17.04 now results in the same problem again. Mouse clicks
are lost regularly, and dmesg shows entries like below:

Digging around that issue, i've found that the cpu is doing dynamic
scalling as expected:

Since people don't care to read whole discussion I'm going to repeat myself
here every few posts.
It is not caused by Ubuntu 17.10
It is general Linux issue (I was Antergos user when it hit me)
Solution is to physically replace NVRAM chip and reflash it with the content
from the old one.
