I found that if you downgrade the modemmanager the UML295 indeed works
as it should. However, it breaks my Sierra Wireless 340U. If you use a
recent modem manager the 340U works but it breaks the UML295. Know that

The same xhci error happens in 4.9 and 4.10 which causes the network
adapter to fail or cause usb devices to drop out, needing re-plugging

me. I ran system for two days without any OOM-kills. Before that, simply

I do not know about any workaround. Plugging the third HDD into another
USB port brings the same result. On the other hand, it is possible to
use USB flash drives. Probably because they are not UAS devices.

I've been seeing issues like this with a bevy of external drives hooked
up through USB, on every single GNU/Linux distribution that is running
kernel 4.3 or later. Sadly, this even affects recent releases of distros
