Sorry for the long delay in posting results but I did want to share what we've
learned.
1) The failures happen during the VSS Snapshot/checkpoint creation process.
You can reproduce the errors by doing manual VSS snapshots.
2) The heavier the VM load, especially I/O, the more likely the error

I spoke too soon. It took about 20 minutes for the issue to develop, but
it has reappeared just as before with the new kernel.

I verified that keyutils is already included in vivid+ in order to fix
1449074. So this shouldn't be too much of an issue to fix in trusty as
well.

I seem to have the same problem on a Dell M3800.
Unfortunately, I have no "wl" module installed, so that does not make a
difference.
The problem appeared in a 15.04 in one of the last weeks before 15.10 release.
It is still there in 15.10.
