Is this definitely a kernel problem? The same thing happened a few
Ubuntu versions ago and then I thought it was due to a decision in
upstream gnome somewhere that a laptop with external monitor should not
suspend when lid is closed, but that eventually got reverted, either
upstream or in Ubuntu,

BIOS reports "ASF2 force off" events when these shutdown happens, which

This is now getting into the realm of the absurd. No matter what kernel
version I run in the 3.13.* series the system will lockup after a day or

Seems not to be okay.
Installed 14.04-2 lts and using wifi usb dongle with rtl 8188UC chipset.
There are many many connection cuts. Mostly only the first request goes
through, maybe a second. Then it takes ages to load something. YOu have
to reconnect or even reboot to be able to use the net again
It is real?
What is fixed the issue? new bios version or new kenel version ?

I also use ASUS X200MA and have the same issue since the upgrade to
3.13.0-45 and continue to have a problem when upgraded to 3.13.0-46.
The last kernel that worked for this laptop is 3.13.0-45.
