I should probably add that the system reacts on the brightness keys
(F4/F5) by displaying and changing the brightness bar indicator, only
that this has no effect on the actual screen brightness.

ipr failing device information is received after executing vpdupdate

Please test this dkms, let us see if the led problem can be fixed by
this dkms.
in this dkms, I use SND_PCI_QUIRK(0x1028, 0x062c, "Dell",
ALC293_FIXUP_DELL_WMI_MIC_MUTE_LED) to fix the mic led problem.

Ok, I've so far found that this works with 3.16.0-031600rc1-generic but
does not work with 3.15.10-031510-generic.
I'll continue later and try to find the commit that makes this work.
