It seems that my patch was applied in the wrong place. You put it after
the 4th arg instead of after %rsi is written (easy to miss given the
vastly different assembly argument orders). We actually need to fix up
%rsi / 2nd arg syscall number and instead it is now overwritten by the
"movq %rax,%rsi"
problem seems to be still present. I reported the bug here trough
ubuntu-bug linux. I didn't managed to report it here so i created a new
bug and marked as duplicate of this.

I can confirm that this bug also affects my Asus X450CC.
Although the touchpad works without problems on Windows 7, which

I have two machines. A Thinkpad W701 and a Thinkpad Edge 510. Both with
a Realtek 8192SE adapter.

Yeah, that brown paper bag was my fault. Thanks Launchpad for white-
space dammaging the patch so I hand applied it in the wrong place. Bah.

I think I may be hutting this problem too.
Everything all fine before upgrading to 14.04. Now my Fujifilm Finepix LSS
camera is not mountable.
The syslog shows the same as the OP:
