I think the patch above is safe for 3.13. I don't know how to upstream
that since it is fixed in 3.15 and this basically means that I need a
patch in 3.13 / 3.14 which won't be in Linus's tree ever... But that's

Same problem! Here’s the workaround I found. Hopefully my efforts will
assist someone else, and point to a permanent fix.

I realise this is probably unrelated to the bug then, I think my
problem lies within the Intel graphics driver somewhere in the kernel.
But for the benefit of anyone searching, I have found a workaround for
my version of the problem...
For me it only freezes on suspend if X is showing at the time.

I had to reboot to a different kernel. I couldn't log into my VPN with
3.15.0-031500rc2-generic.
I decided to see which kernels would give me my wireless mouse back after a
reboot.
Tried 3.13.0-27-generic > no wireless mouse detected

I'm also seeing a ridiculous load cycle count increase on my thinkpad
x230 running xubuntu 14.04. I got suspicious when I could hear the faint
click in a quiet room, and it reminded me of the issue from several
years back.

I have a this problem on 14.04 on desktop pc. Sometimes when I suspend
the fans keep spinning and I have to force shutdown the computer. MB:
Gigabyte B75-D3V with integrated GPU. Does someone have any idea where
does this coming from ?
