I connected the 14.04 via cable to a computer that has internet and
reported this way, directly with apport-collect from the 14.04.
After that I noticed that the original rtl8192cu module was still
blacklisted from installing the patched module (see [1] above).
lsusb shows no device for the 2357:
I also can confirm that after tearing out my hair fsck the disk fixes
