The laptop frequently suspends/resumes successfully; it's been
suspended/resumed probably at least a dozen times since the last reboot.
I've seen intermittent suspend/resume failures before with previous

Christopher,
I tried the version of Ubuntu you mentioned for a few hours and didn't
see the bug. I was running it from a USB drive, however, because I
didn't want to put a development release of Ubuntu on my computer. So
I'm not sure if that makes a difference in triggering the bug.

I had the same problem.
The sollution that worked for me was
- starting up with the usb,
- dowloading boot-repair
- starting boot repair, using advanced options -> it points efi out, and

It may work as a workaround.

Ok, so it sounds like both commits need to be reverted. I'll build that

Yes, thank you. Please keep this ticket active. It *IS* an issue and is
quite annoying, as every time I have to shut down my laptop, I have to
let it boot up, go into the BIOS and hit power off, then it boots up
again and I have to hit power off again. And I thought it was due to the

Hi Chenna,
Perhaps you are getting a different version of the package than I am?
If I type "aptitude show bcmwl-kernel-source" it shows me:
Version: 6.20.155.1+bdcom-0ubuntu6
If you see an earlier version then maybe I have more or different
repositories enabled in my /etc/apt/sources.list file. I
