things have drastically improved (95% no issue), but it's not 100%.
Hence, could you please boot with either 15.10 or 16.04 live environment
and then perform the command requested in

It does now boot the latest Ubuntu 15.10 (and 16.04 Daily Snapshot) 95%
of the time without issue. When it boots to the Desktop, it looks like
the picture I posted. I guess I need to close this bug and open one for
the display issue?

Not sure if I should do anything with this bug at this point but I still
have this computer and I tried installing Ubuntu 15.10 on it. A lot of
things that used to not work with Ubuntu now do and that's encouraging
but the graphics still look like the image I posted in comment #10.
