Sounds like and issue with PulseAudio, definitely not with linux-meta
package. Reassigning.

Similar problems, I have observed in Ubuntu 14.04, after upgrade to kernel
3.16, unchanged version of pulseaudio. Perhaps it is connected with a timer, or
other changes in the kernel, and possibly in snd_usb_audio driver.
